At just 16 years, 10 months and 29 days old, Luke Paul became the youngest-ever athlete to sign with the prestigious program, eclipsing the mark previously held by Dash Daniels.

A standout performer across the junior ranks, the talented teenager, who will play for the Cairns Taipans during the Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season, has already represented Australia at the youth level on a number of occasions.

His outstanding play in the green and gold saw him receive MVP and All-Star Five honours at the 2025 FIBA U16 Asia Cup, where he led Australia to the gold medal with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists in the final against China. Paul was also named to the All-Star Five for the 2025 FIBA U17 Oceania Championships in Samoa.

More recently, the 17-year-old shone for Western Australia Metro in Basketball Australia’s U18 National Championships in April and led the Australian Crocs to the bronze medal at the 2026 FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey.

His strong play saw him named in the tournament's All-Star Five, after averaging 15.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.
