French 17-year-old Nolan Traore is already firming as a high-level Next Stars prospect for NBL24, and after training with the Perth Wildcats and representing their academy team this pre-season, it’s easy to see why.

The 191-centimetre guard is yet another player to come out of France’s famed INSEP Academy – the program that former Next Stars Ousmane Dieng and Rayan Rupert graduated from.

Traore scored 37 points in his debut performance for the Wildcats Academy side, and GM of Next Stars Recruitment Liam Santamaria believes Traore’s ability to come and experience the NBL prior to a potential Next Stars call-up next season could become the new norm for potential prospects.

“We’ve been talking with Nolan’s agent over a period of time and old them he’s on our radar and a guy we’re watching,” Santamaria told News Corp.

“We saw an opportunity in conversation with his agent to partner up and work together to bring him out here for a month, both for his development and to get a bit of a taste of what this level is like.

“We’re looking to bring other prospects out where it’s possible.”
