Incoming Illawarra Next Star AJ Johnson has once again cemented himself as one of the top high school hoops prospects in America

Incoming Illawarra Next Star AJ Johnson has once again cemented himself as one of the top high school hoops prospects in America, by earning MVP honours alongside University of Kentucky commits Justin Edwards and DJ Wagner at the Iverson Classic.

Johnson’s Team Loyalty defeated Team Honour 131-124 in front of former NBA MVP Allen Iverson – who the event is named after.

Johnson shared the Team Loyalty MVP honours with Wagner courtesy of his 22 point performance.

Edwards is currently projected to be selected fourth in the 2024 NBA Draft, while Wagner is projected seventh, as per ESPN.

Johnson made waves in the American collegiate basketball scene after decommitting from Texas University in order to join the Illawarra Hawks as an NBL Next Star for NBL24.
