The Golden State Warriors announced on Tuesday (AEDT) they have waived Australian two-way forward Alex Toohey.
The Canberra product, who was selected with the 52nd pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, reportedly requires knee surgery that will force him to miss the remainder of the season.
The former NBL Next Star, who spent two seasons with the Sydney Kings, only made two appearances with the Golden State Warriors NBA G League affiliate, Santa Cruz, during his time in the United States.
Across those two fixtures, 21-year-old Toohey averaged 7 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.

Toohey averaged 10.5 points per game across 30 games with the Kings last season, along with 3.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Following a tremendous second season in the NBL, he received the 2024-25 NBL Next Generation Award for the league's best young player.
