As Dyson Daniels accepts his award for the NBA’s Most Improved Player, younger brother and Melbourne United Next Star Dash’s journey is just beginning.

Speaking on SEN’s The Run Home, Dyson was full of praise for his brother’s potential.

“He’s only 17 years old and has still got a lot of development in him, but he’s a similar player to me,” he said.

“A really good defender, developing his offensive game… he can play make, the shot’s coming along, he’s got a really good frame, he’s my height already. He’s got all the athleticism as well.”

Dash has been a staple in Australian junior programs and an NBA prospect that has many around him excited to see the journey unfold.

“He’s got some talent at his age and he’s got a lot more size than me,” Dyson noted about the differences between Dash and him at the same age.

Dash has had a head start on his Next Stars program, as he joined Melbourne United in January, practicing with the squad before becoming part of the active roster ahead of NBL26.
